where we been.
The summer's been pretty crazy for us all. My beautiful wife and I have spent most of it traveling, some with the band, some on our own. Home has been sort of a gas station it seems. Which i don't mind so much. I love the road. I love the window seats of airplanes. I love the strange hotel rooms and meeting new faces. i think we both do.We've met a lot of new people, many of you signed our mailing list and have come out to support our shows. Thanks so much. I hope to continue to see you there.
Our trumpeter, Jeremy Denman has been busy with his hip hop group, the urban sophisticates tracking a new cd which should proove to be really good when it's finished. You can check out their website too. (theurbansophisticates.com) Our drummer, Joel Simmons has spent much of his time this summer producing Jonathan Helser's cd from "the Awakening" we did earlier this year. Songs of Water also tracked a live recording there but it's yet to be decided whether or not we captured anything usable.
In the middle of all this, we've also faced a pretty intense health battle with one of our members who's now recovering from surgery. Many people have prayed for him and he's healing quickly.
so in light of all that, we're going to attempt to take the month of August off to reflect and to write some new stuff. (we'll see if that happens!)
There are many more journies to be taken. much more to be discovered. many mines to be unearthed. You gotta see the earth from up here. everything looks much smaller.
